INFO

BYREDO “Slow Dance” 50ml EDP

HOW DID WE GET HERE?

I was in Selfridges in London and decided to visit the BYREDO counter. I told the salesperson that I had struggled to find a scent within the collection that I actually enjoyed. He presented me with Slow Dance and I was pleasantly surprised.

HOW DOES THIS FRAGRANCE MAKE ME FEEL?

This labdanum-heavy scent feels out of place among the typically light, fresh and inoffensive DNA that is typical of most BYREDO scents. It’s so sweet and syrupy that it resembles a fragrance overdose. It’s like a concentrated Golden Syrup with zero water dilution. However, in the depths of the coldest winters I yearn for this saccharine, cloying sweetness that is capable of cutting through the sleet and snow.

RATING

3 – MIST Opportunity: I love this fragrance but I can tell that many won’t. It was almost born to be discontinued, as most gourmand addicts would not think to come to BYREDO for such a scent and I cannot see the brands die-hard fans coveting it enough to keep it on the shelves.
