Review: “Eilish” by Billie Eilish
INFO
Eilish Eau de Parfum by Billie Eilish 50ml – £39
HOW DID WE GET HERE?
I was wandering around a department store when I saw a display for this fragrance. I am usually skeptical of celebrity fragrances and tend to avoid smelling them altogether. When I do decide to defy this stance and experiment, I am usually rewarded with an extremely plastic smell at worst or a weak interpretation of an already popular scent at best. I enjoy a few of Billie Eilish’s songs but I certainly would not describe myself as a fan. The fact that the bottle was shaped like a beautiful bust statue intrigued me so I decided to give it a chance.
HOW DOES THIS FRAGRANCE MAKE ME FEEL?
This fragrance is a menthol caterpillar that morphs into an ambery-vanilla butterfly when it’s allowed to develop in its cocoon. While it might smell a tad juvenile when you first spray it, the scent becomes slightly more mature as it evolves. This is the scent you wear to a high-school reunion to re-ignite the sugary-sweet affections of your teenage crush, with a touch of cacao added to let them know that you’re now a fully grown adult who always pays their bills on time.
RATING
3 – MIST Opportunity: While this is a very enjoyable fragrance, it does not impress immediately. When I first tried the scent I was underwhelmed and walked out of the department store. It was only after the scent had dried down for 15 minutes that I felt convinced it was worth the purchase.
