“Hipster Oud” by Zara 80ml EDP

HOW DID WE GET HERE?

Full disclosure: I am not the biggest fan of oud as a note. So when I heard people were complaining that Zara’s new oud collection did not have any oud I was more inclined to give it a try. The first time I smelt this scent I didn’t think it was anything special. This is probably because I had gone nose-blind smelling the entire collection back-to-back. The second time that I smelt the fragrance I was better able to appreciate it.

HOW DOES THIS FRAGRANCE MAKE FEEL?

This fragrance is sweet syrupy autumnal goodness. If I could make this edible and pour it all over my pancakes I would. This perfume flirts with being saccharine but never quite crosses the line. In the cold weather its amber note dominates but in the summer heat the rose notes shine through.

RATING

4 – Don’t MIST Out: If you are a fan of all things gourmand I can’t see how you would not adore this scent. In my mind, this is everything I wanted Rose Gourmand to be. This fragrance is truly versatile. I can wear it to the office, at brunch with friends, or for a day our shopping. I enjoyed this so much that I bought a back-up bottle.
