Welcome!
I am “The AnonyMIST”, a fragrance-lover who uses scent both as an expression of the many facets of my personality and as a catalyst to uplift my mood.
My name has two meanings. Firstly, it references the fact that I write this blog in relative anonymity. Secondly, the name alludes to the reality that our opinion of a fragrance will always remain unknown until our noses meet the scent. Neither the shape of the bottle, the price, the brand, or whether we have liked other fragrances with similar notes can ever serve as a guarantee that it will be love at first sniff.
What I love the most about this hobby/bank-balance drainer is that it is truly timeless. A fragrance does not have to be new in order to be exciting. Looking to the past for old gems can be just as fulfilling as any modern release. There are fragrances that were originally created in the 1950s are still being sold in abundance today, providing newer generations with the chance to discover them.
My transition from “Calgon” to “Caron” has been a fun one, so I tend to take a tongue in-cheek approach to reviewing fragrances.
Like the shelves of my favourite fragrance hall, I hope that this blog sparks curiosity in all fragrance-lovers far and wide!
