Review: “Coromandel” by Chanel

INFO

Coromandel by Chanel 200ml EDP.

HOW DID WE GET HERE?

I explored the Chanel “Les Exclusifs” collection in Selfridges and this scent was my favourite within the range. My brother was kind enough to gift me this scent for my birthday.

HOW DOES THIS FRAGRANCE MAKE ME FEEL?

I tended to write off Chanel as a fragrance house in the past because I had disliked most things I had put my nose on. Coco Mademoiselle was the only notable exception and even then, I received it as a gift, I didn’t purchase it myself. But with Coromandel I have found my white chocolate scent of dreams. The patchouli in this perfume HOWLS like a wolf. This is not a crowd-pleaser by any stretch of the imagination. But she’s established, she’s paid her dues, and she’s respected in every room she enters. Coromandel is like the actress who gets ignored by the Oscars but cleans house at the SAG awards. Those who respect the craft of perfumery cannot deny her brilliance. (Hi Glenn Close!)

RATING

5 – A Life of Matrimonial MIST: This is one of the few fragrances I own in a 200ml size. I think that says it all!
