Review: “Amarige” by Givenchy
INFO
Amarige by Givenchy 100ml EDT
HOW DID WE GET HERE?
I read a book called “Perfumes: The A -Z Guide” by Luca Turin and Tania Sanchez. This fragrance was listed in the book as being among the “greatest fragrances of all time”. I decided to hunt this down to see if the authors were correct.
HOW DOES THIS FRAGRANCE MAKE ME FEEL?
This fragrance makes me feel very sentimental. It reminds me so much of the fragrances that my Mom used to wear when I was a child. The name “Amarige” is actually an anagram of the French word for marriage, “mariage”. With such an intentional name, this is a scent for intentional occasions. I have worn this powdery masterpiece to a birthday lunch in the Eiffel Tower and on my Mom’s wedding day. It is definitely a special scent that I hold very close to my heart.
RATING
4 – Don’t MIST Out: This is a scent that is reflective of it’s time. A powerful white floral that is heavy on the tuberose makes it typical of the 90s. I love many of the scents released in this era, but I know that the average person may find this scent to be quite dated. It’s worth a sniff but I can see why this would not be for everyone.
